Quick answer
Painting and window treatment calls in Indianapolis are answered 24 hours a day, and one company handles interior and exterior painting, cabinets, drywall, wallpaper and custom blinds, shades and shutters from a service office on the city's south side. You describe the job, we set an estimate visit, and the same team that quotes it does the work.
Why the prep matters here
The typical Indianapolis house dates from the mid-1970s, and the ranches and split-levels from the 1950s through the 1980s carry decades of caulk, filler and old coats under whatever color is on them now. Paint fails at the joints first: the fascia seam, the window sill, the trim return where water sits. We scrape, sand and prime those spots before any finish coat goes on, because a fresh coat over a loose one lasts one winter.
Winter here is the real test. A normal year brings 106 nights at or below freezing and about 43 inches of precipitation spread across every month, so exterior wood swells, shrinks and swells again. Stain on a deck, paint on a porch floor and sealant on brick all have to move with it. Inside, the same swings dry out plaster and open hairline cracks, which is why so much of our interior work starts with a patch knife rather than a roller.
Windows get their own share of trouble. West-facing glass in a summer that only rarely tops 90 degrees still bakes a room by four in the afternoon, and bare windows in a new subdivision house are the first thing most buyers want fixed. Cellular shades hold heat in during January and out in July, and we size them to the frame rather than the rough opening.

A look at the work

How a job runs
Tell us the rooms, the surfaces or the windows. If it is urgent we say so honestly and find the earliest slot.
We measure, look at the surfaces up close and talk color or fabric with you in the room where it will live.
One document lists prep, coats, product line and what we will and will not move or cover.
Furniture covered, floors papered, holes patched, glossy trim scuffed, wood rot cut out. This is most of the job.
Two coats of the line we agreed on, cut by brush at the edges and rolled or sprayed on the field.
Blinds and shades are mounted after the paint cures, so the brackets go into clean, finished trim.
You look at every wall and every window in daylight before we load the van.
Coverage
Painting and window treatment crews run out of the service office at 3053 Stillcrest Ln on the south side of Indianapolis, with the head office up on Wicker Avenue in Saint John in Northwest Indiana. Marion County and the suburbs ringing it get most of our calendar; the full picture, including where the drive gets too long, is on the service area page.
What you get
Scraping, sanding, patching and priming take longer than the color coat. We do not skip it to hit a lower number.
Choose the wall color and the shade fabric in the same visit, so the room is planned as a whole and finished in one visit sequence.
Fan decks and fabric samples are looked at on your wall, at the time of day you use the room, not under a showroom lamp.
Floors papered, furniture wrapped, vents sealed, pets kept clear and the room put back the way we found it.
Calls are picked up around the clock. Painting is rarely an emergency, but a leak stain before a listing photo can feel like one.
We work mostly with Benjamin Moore and Sherwin-Williams lines on the paint side, and with Hunter Douglas, Graber and Bali on blinds and shades, and we will tell you plainly when a cheaper line will do the job just as well.
FAQ
Yes. The usual order is paint first, then blinds and shades once the trim has cured, so the brackets mount into a clean finish. Both are scheduled on one estimate visit.
Calls are answered around the clock and the estimate visit is booked on the first call. Exact timing depends on the season; exterior work stacks up from late spring through fall.
Benjamin Moore and Sherwin-Williams for most interior and exterior work, PPG and Behr when a specific product fits better. We name the line and sheen in the written scope.
Usually. We take a chip from an inconspicuous spot and have it matched, then test a sample patch in daylight before committing a whole room.
Interior work runs all year. Exterior paint and stain need surface temperatures above the product minimum for several hours, so most exterior jobs sit between April and October here.
The whole of Marion County and the suburbs around it from the south side service office, plus the Crown Point and Saint John area from the head office. Details are on the service area page.
